I love to read, as you might notice. But every so often I came across bad books. Yeah, that happens. What do I do? Just hope another one will be better. And it almost always happens.
Yesterday I published a review of Waiting for the Barbarians which I didn’t like, whatsoever. Nevertheless I decided to do a review. It’s mainly a negative one. On the same day I finished A General Theory of Oblivion by José Eduardo Agualusa which I liked. I have to say for the first time I read an Angolan writer of Portuguese descent. Moreover I knew nothing about The Angolan War of Independence (1961–1974) which shown through the eyes of a Portuguese woman named Ludo. And I’m glad I’ve repaired a gap in my knowledge. Later on I’m going to review it. It’ll be a positive review.
I have one more interesting book to read called A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles. I’m looking forward to it. The book received many favorable reviews. Which means… Actually it means nothing. Well, almost nothing. It means something. Damn it. Anyway it’s great when book gets 5 starts. You know what I mean, don’t you?
